Through 'First Check in Deep Tech,' SOSV invests up to $550K on a SAFE at the earliest stage, then backs winners through later rounds with follow-on capital (60% of its $306M Fund V is reserved for follow-ons), co-investing alongside firms like Khosla Ventures, Sequoia, and Y Combinator. Since 2015 the San Francisco program alone has graduated 310+ companies that have collectively raised $3.6B.
