LAV (formerly Lilly Asia Ventures) is an independent biomedical venture capital firm investing in biopharmaceuticals, human therapeutics, medical devices, and diagnostics across the US and Greater China. Launched in 2008 as Eli Lilly's corporate venture arm, LAV spun off into an independent investment manager in 2011 and is no longer part of Eli Lilly. The firm takes a long-term, science-first approach, betting on people and quality products rather than short-term hype, with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Palo Alto.
